I’ve got a story to tell…
What is going on everybody!? I’m Jake Rose — a play-by-play sports broadcaster coming to you LIVE from Nashville, TN!
For more than a decade I’ve been the television voice of Middle Tennessee State University athletics. I’m also the TV play-by-play voice of the TSSAA baseball and basketball state championships, and a host and pit reporter for IndyCar’s Music City Grand Prix.
Sports broadcasting has been my dream since I was a kid growing up in rural Indiana. I was eight years old when it hit me, laying on my parents bedroom floor, watching Bob Costas host the 1996 Summer Olympics in primetime. “THAT LOOKS SO COOL! I WANNA DO THAT!”
I’ve spent every day since that moment trekking this broadcasting mountain.
I got my start calling games as a student at MTSU. From those early broadcasts to today, I’ve built my career on storytelling, preparation, a deep love for the games I cover, and having a ton of fun on air.
Outside of the booth, I work full-time as the Senior Policy Advisor in the Tennessee Senate Clerk’s Office — a role that gives me the flexibility to stay active in sports media while continuing a meaningful career in public service.
I’m proud of the path I’ve taken and the life I’ve built in Nashville. And while I’ve come a long way from that kid on his parent’s bedroom floor, I’m still chasing the dream, calling the games, and working for my own Olympic primetime moment.
